Sheridan Hall

Sheridan Hall, located within the eight-acre Scout Park in Greater London, has undergone a significant transformation with the complete demolition of the old facility and the construction of a new two-storey building. Designed to accommodate around 120 people, the upgraded hall features a mezzanine level, a commercial kitchen, and office spaces, alongside essential facilities such as accessible toilets and underfloor heating. The new hall includes advanced amenities like controlled lighting, a projector screen, a sound system, and comprehensive AV systems, all integrated with modern IT infrastructure.

Sheridan Hall – Ben Nevis Hall

The construction encompassed total demolition, extensive groundworks, steel frame erection, roofing, glazing, landscaping, and the installation of state-of-the-art utilities and accessibility features. The hall is thoughtfully designed to support a range of activities, including scouting events. This project reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting Scout Park, an organisation with which we have a long history of fundraising and volunteer work, enhancing the community’s facilities for a wide array of events and activities.
An ecologically sensitive and constrained site, surrounded by residential properties. Scout Park continued to operate during building works. There were offices and dwellings immediately adjacent to the site with shared services. Therefore, water and gas needed to be isolated prior to demolition. Access was challenging due to restricted widths in Scout Park and access for construction vehicles was via a residential street, requiring careful traffic management.
None of the challenges delayed the programme of works. The project finished on time and under budget.
There were no neighbour complaints. The client was delighted with the outcome and Stamfords has subsequently been awarded new projects on other buildings on site. The project has helped the charity maximise their revenue and comply with legal obligations by encouraging innovation. It provides a vehicle for community involvement and contributes to equality and diversity, which Stamfords have expertise in.
