At Stamford Contracts, we are committed to strengthening the communities we serve. Recently, our team put this commitment into action by volunteering at Scout Park, an 8-acre woodland campsite in Haringey, managed by the North London Scout District (NLSD). Nestled just minutes from Bounds Green Tube Station, this green haven offers outdoor education and adventure for young people and we were proud to play a part in its upkeep.
A Day of Purpose-Driven Action
Our office staff volunteered their time for a hands-on clean-up and maintenance initiative, tackling essential tasks such as litter removal, trail repairs, and clearing overgrown vegetation across the park’s woodland and open spaces. These efforts directly support Scout Park’s role in hosting activities like archery, climbing, and canoeing programmes that inspire resilience and teamwork in Scouts and local youth groups. By revitalising key areas, we aimed to ensure the site remains safe and accessible for its diverse users, from school groups to charity organisations.
Why Scout Park?
Scout Park’s unique blend of natural beauty and practical facilities including dedicated accommodation blocks, fire pits, and a campfire circle makes it a cornerstone of outdoor learning in North London. However, maintaining such a dynamic space requires ongoing effort. Recognising this, our team focused on addressing seasonal challenges, such as trail erosion and debris buildup, aligning with NLSD’s emphasis on sustainability and traditional camping values.
While we know our efforts alone were not enough, we are proud to see our team members demonstrating care and commitment to the community. We hope that even more members of Stamford Contracts will join us next time, further amplifying our impact.
We plan to return for seasonal clean-ups and explore opportunities to support Scout Park’s educational programmes. Our goal is to help preserve this resource for future generations while inspiring other local businesses to join the effort.
